Jürgen was born and raised in Alaska. After graduating high school in Anchorage in 1993, he joined the US Navy and served on the USS Abraham Lincoln. After a four-year enlistment, Jürgen attended and graduated from the University of Washington in 2001.
Jürgen briefly returned to Alaska only to go back Outside to attend law school. He graduated from Willamette University College of Law in 2007 and promptly moved to Iowa. Once Jürgen passed the Iowa bar, he opened his own general practice law office. For the following years, he focused on family law, criminal law and bankruptcy until he decided it was time to return to Alaska.
Jürgen moved back to Alaska in the summer of 2010 and passed the summer 2010 bar exam. He was hired at Dan Allan and Associates in February 2011.
